Pietro Gandolfi pronto a tornare in pista

FORMULA 2 – Barcellona, report

Pietro's weekend was marked by a consistent improvement between each session, although the Italian's slow start meant he was fighting toward the lower end of the grid. Having qualified 23rd for the opening race, Gandolfi impressed with his pace during the 20 laps, setting a time just six tenths off the fastest lap - less than one tenth slower than Robert Wickens. The Italian was however unable to finish the race after spinning on lap six, but he will no doubt be encouraged by such a strong showing. He set a similar time again in race two, although a faster track meant he was further down the running order. He finished the race in 20th, having improved four places over the 20 laps.

FORMULA 2 – Imola, report

At his home race of Imola Pietro struggled to continue the improvements he has made over the season, and the boisterous Italian could only manage 24th and 23rd respectively for the two races. Two early incidents in each race meant the weekend will be one to forget, as collisions with Ollie Hancock in race one and Natacha Gachnang in race two led to his retirement from both rounds. Pietro had held high hopes of breaking into the top 15 in Imola, and will be looking to bounce back next time out in Barcelona

FORMULA 2 – Difficult week-end for Pietro Gandolfi in Oschersleben

22-year-old Pietro Gandolfi scored his best qualifying position of the season for race two when the Italian chalked up a tenth row starting berth. He did however struggle to get to grips with the technical nature of the Oschersleben and had several spins over the course of the weekend. His race pace did not match his qualifying speed, but he was able to take a solid race finish during Sunday's contest. He is already looking forward to rounds 13 and 14, where he will race at his home circuit in Imola.

It's a difficult circuit, but hopefully I can learn it as fast as possible. I have made big improvements in my style, mentality and technical understanding, and I hope to go well he
re before my home race in Imola”.This is the feeling of Pietro Gandolfi before Motorsport Arena races in Oschersleben
